NM United and ABQ Sunport Kick off New Partnership
ALBUQUERQUE — Today, the Albuquerque International Sunport announced their partnership with New Mexico United, making the Sunport the Official Travel Partner of United. Together, the two unveiled an immersive experience at the Sunport, with United video, messages, projections and more at every turn inside the facility.
“The spirit of One Albuquerque and Somos Unidos are on display in a big way with this partnership,” said Mayor Tim Keller. “The Sunport’s sense of place continues to shine, and now when travelers step foot off the plane, there’s no doubt they’re in United country.”
“This is United country,” said New Mexico United owner/President Peter Trevisani. “We are so proud to represent this state, and to have the incredible support that we see every week from New Mexicans. Now, that fanatical pride in who we are is on full display for every player and fan traveling into the Sunport. When opponents arrive here, they know that they’re not just taking on eleven players on a field; they’re taking on 2.2 million New Mexicans.”
The displays are created with the goals of letting opposing players and fans know that they are entering United territory as soon as they arrive in New Mexico, and of letting United players know that the state is with them whenever they travel. In addition, fans at United matches will see exciting Sunport activations, ticket giveaways, and social media collaborations throughout the season.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with New Mexico United and to serve as the Official Travel Partner of United,” said Director Richard McCurley. “We look forward to demonstrating our passion for New Mexico’s very own pro soccer team, and to show travelers from all over the world passing through our Sunport that we are United.”
The immersive experience at the Sunport and the Sunport’s presence at United games will run through at least the end of the year.
