Knowledge Takes Flight: Sunport Spotlights New Mexico’s Higher Education
New Exhibit Features Eight Local Colleges and Universities
ALBUQUERQUE — The “Knowledge Concourse,” a new exhibit at the Albuquerque International Sunport that highlights the impact and diversity of New Mexico’s higher education institutions, opened today. The installation features eight colleges and universities from around the state, each displayed in its own glass case on the first level of the terminal, near baggage claim.
The eight participating colleges and universities featured in the exhibit include:
1. Central New Mexico Community College (CNM).
2. Eastern New Mexico University (ENMU).
3. New Mexico Highlands University (NMHU).
4. New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology (NMTU).
5. New Mexico State University (NMSU).
6. Northern New Mexico College (NNMC).
7. University of New Mexico (UNM).
8. Western New Mexico University (WNMU).
“New Mexico’s universities are shaping our future — and now their stories are front and center at the Sunport,” said Mayor Keller. “The Knowledge Concourse highlights the students, innovation, and culture that make our state’s institutions truly world-class. It’s a unique way to welcome travelers and celebrate what keeps New Mexico moving forward.”
The exhibit is part of the Sunport’s ongoing “Dream of Flight” terminal renovation, and adds another meaningful airport experience for both visitors and residents. With passengers arriving from around the globe every day, the showcases serve as an engaging introduction to the educational excellence found throughout the Land of Enchantment.
“This is about more than just beautifying a space,” said Aviation Acting Director Manny Manriquez. “These showcases are a celebration of knowledge, community, and the future of our state. They also represent another exciting addition to the Dream of Flight vision, giving travelers a reason to pause, learn, and connect right as they arrive in Albuquerque.”
The exhibit is now open to the public and located near baggage claim on the Sunport’s lower level. All eight higher learning displays are available for viewing simultaneously. For more information, visit abqsunport.com
