No Phone? No Problem: Sunport Debuts FlySide Visitor Pass Kiosk
New charging stations mark beginning of broader EV expansion
ALBUQUERQUE — The Albuquerque International Sunport (ABQ) is making it easier than ever for people to enjoy the airport beyond security with the new FlySide Pass kiosk in the Great Hall (Level 2). The kiosk provides a convenient way to apply in person for a visitor pass before heading through the TSA checkpoint.
Designed to be more welcoming and accessible, the kiosk provides an easy on-site option for those who may not have a personal device or simply prefer to apply in person. This amenity marks another step in the Sunport’s effort to create a more comfortable guest experience that feels distinctly Albuquerque.
“The FlySide Pass has helped make the Sunport feel more connected to the community,” said Customer Experience Manager Jonathan Small. “This kiosk makes it even easier for people to enjoy the new restaurants and art, or walk someone all the way to the gate even if they’re not flying.”
The Sunport is also launching a new FlySide Pass video highlighting how visitors can use the pass to experience the airport’s restaurants, shops, art, and cultural amenities beyond the security checkpoint. The video will be shared across the Sunport’s digital and social media channels.
The FlySide Pass allows visitors to:
- Accompany or meet travelers at the gate
- Dine, shop, and explore the Sunport’s reimagined spaces featuring locally made New Mexican products, favorite dishes, and restaurants
- Explore the Sunport’s extensive art collection, cultural exhibits, and live local music
Visitors can request a FlySide Pass up to seven days in advance, with same-day approvals often delivered within minutes. *The FlySide Pass currently requires applicants to be 18 or older. TSA is preparing a federal system firmware update that will enable minors to participate. The Sunport will announce this expansion as soon as the update is complete.
