ALBUQUERQUE — Continuing to enhance the travel experience through improved accessibility and modern amenities, the Albuquerque International Sunport has added two adult changing rooms, providing greater comfort, convenience, and support for passengers and their caregivers.

The new private, accessible restrooms are located in the pre-security area of the terminal and in Concourse A. Each room includes an adult changing table and a height-adjustable sink, helping make the Sunport more welcoming for customers with a wide range of mobility and personal care needs.

“We want to create spaces where everyone belongs,” said Mayor Tim Keller. “These new rooms help all travelers experience the Sunport more comfortably.”

Each room is equipped with a Koala Kare KB3000 adjustable-height adult changing station designed specifically for public spaces. The stations support up to 500 pounds and feature height-adjustable controls on both the bed and wall units, a one-handed safety guard, and controlled opening and closing mechanisms that provide safe, comfortable use for both travelers and caregivers.

“Creating an airport that is welcoming and accessible means meeting the needs of every traveler,” said Director of Aviation Manny Manriquez. “These additions give passengers with personal care needs and their companions the features they need to travel with greater ease and confidence.”

The improvements are part of the Sunport’s ongoing investment in accessibility, inclusion, and modern passenger amenities as the once-in-a-generation Dream of Flight terminal renovation nears completion. By incorporating details that better serve travelers of all abilities, the Sunport continues to build an airport experience that is more welcoming and functional for everyone.
