Local brands and global travel essentials come together at ABQ

ALBUQUERQUE — The Albuquerque International Sunport (ABQ) celebrated a major milestone in its ongoing transformation with the official grand opening of six new retail destinations: Los Poblanos, Museum of New Mexico Foundation Shops, Mountain Standard Time, Duke City Station, Great Hall Landing, and InMotion by WHSmith North America and locally based Standard Time Operations.

The WHSmith North America retail program includes a joint venture with four Albuquerque business leaders—Teresa Curl, Matt Rembe, Denise Ip, and Joya Kizer—ensuring local ownership, perspective, and economic participation in the Sunport’s evolving retail landscape.

“The Sunport’s new spots truly reflect the spirit of this area,” said Mayor Tim Keller. “By showcasing local culture, creativity, and innovation alongside world-class travel amenities, we’re creating a welcoming front door to our city and state.”

Together the new offerings blend innovative conveniences with authentic New Mexico brands. InMotion, located post-security in the T-Connector, offers premium electronics and is the only airport retailer authorized by Apple. Great Hall Landing, located pre-security, provides travel essentials alongside locally inspired items.

The Sunport’s expanded retail lineup also includes iconic local brands. Los Poblanos brings its

signature farm goods and lavender products to the terminal through a joint venture with WHSmith. Museum of New Mexico Foundation Shops features merchandise inspired by five of the state’s premier museums, with proceeds supporting educational and cultural programs statewide. Mountain Standard Time, independently owned and operated by Standard Time Operations, showcases handcrafted goods and original designs from New Mexico artists and makers.

“These openings represent our commitment to creating a Sunport that is welcoming, vibrant, and distinctly New Mexican,” said Acting Aviation Director Manny Manriquez. “Through strong partnerships, we’re delivering retail spaces that serve travelers while celebrating the spirit of Albuquerque.”

Duke City Station, a nearly 3,000-square-foot urban marketplace inspired by Albuquerque’s rail history and creative energy, features nearly 50 local vendors including New Mexico United and Meow Wolf, making it one of the most robust showcases of regional talent at the Sunport.
